Drone Pilot & Cinematography Course – Gain Your CAA Flyer ID Four sessions for Year 8 and up. Take your first steps into the exciting world of drone flying, aerial filming and cinematography in this practical 4-week course designed for young people in Year 8 and above. Using our professional broadcast cameras alongside the DJI Mini 4 Pro drone, participants will learn the fundamentals of filmmaking, camera operation, drone safety and flight skills, while working towards achieving their Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Flyer ID – now a legal requirement for anyone flying a drone in the UK. Course Details Start Date: Tuesday 15th September - Tuesday 6th October Time: 3.00pm – 4.30pm Duration: 4 weeks (1.5 hours per week) What You'll Learn 🚁 Drone safety, regulations and responsible flying 📖 Preparation for the CAA Flyer ID test 🎥 Filming techniques using professional broadcast cameras 🌍 Aerial cinematography and creative storytelling 🕹 Practical drone flight training with the DJI Mini 4 Pro 🎬 How to capture professional-looking aerial footage 🤝 Confidence, teamwork and problem-solving skills Throughout the course, students will gain hands-on experience both on the ground and in the air, learning how drones are used in modern film and television production while developing safe and confident flying skills.
