For young people aged 7-14 in October Half Term 2026 Spooky Encounters: Lights, Camera, Ghosts! A one-day TV & Film Production Workshop for ages 7–14 Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of your favourite spooky TV shows? Now’s your chance to find out! Inspired by the wonderfully spooky world of BBC Ghosts and its iconic Button House setting at West Horsley Place, our brand-new Spooky Encounters Film Production Experience invites young people to step into the world of television and filmmaking. Join us for an immersive, hands-on day in our professional broadcast TV studio and production control room, based in the grounds of Hurstmere School in Sidcup. Working with professional cameras, sound equipment, live vision mixing and our newly reimagined multi-camera green screen studio, participants will discover how to bring their own spooky screen adventures to life. 🎬 Be the camera operator. Learn how to frame and capture the perfect shot. 🎧 Run the studio. Explore the essential roles that make a TV production happen. 🎛️ Take control. Get hands-on experience in the production control room, mixing live camera feeds and coordinating the action. 👻 Step in front of the camera. Have fun performing and creating your own on-screen moments. Whether your child dreams of being behind the camera, directing the action, managing the studio or performing on screen, this is their chance to explore it all! No experience necessary! Absolute beginners are very welcome, as are young people who have attended our previous end2end TV workshops and are ready to develop their skills further. Following our successful workshops delivered in partnership with the British Film Institute, we’re excited to offer another opportunity for young people to learn professional production techniques, work collaboratively and unleash their creativity.
