What a fantastic October Half Term it’s been so far!
Our end2end TV studio has been alive with creativity, confidence, and collaboration as young people joined us for two exciting hands-on TV and film experiences — our Red Hill News Workshop and the Spook-tacula Pirates TV & Film Production Workshops.
🗞️ Red Hill News Workshop – Our Budding Journalists in Action!
We kicked off the week with some of our Red Hill News Team 🍂, who took on the challenge of creating their very first news programme in just one day!
Working together as reporters, presenters, camera crew, and vision/sound mixers, the team planned, filmed, and edited their own news show using professional green screen technology. From their own chat show to some made up fun, the young journalists showed incredible teamwork, creativity, and confidence in front of and behind the camera.
💬 "It felt just like being in a real TV studio! It was great fun!"
It was inspiring to see everyone take on new roles and grow in confidence with friends throughout the day — a real newsroom atmosphere filled with excitement and enthusiasm!
🏴☠️ Spook-tacula Pirates TV & Film Production Workshops
Later in the week, our studio transformed into a world of film sets, for green screen adventures in our two-day Spook-tacula Pirates Workshop!
Our young filmmakers dived into all aspects of TV and film production — operating cameras, recording sound, directing scenes, and acting to camera. There was plenty of laughter, creativity, and a few spooky surprises along the way as they worked together to produce their own themed short films.
💬 'I didn’t know so much work went into making a film! I liked trying out lots of different jobs — especially being the vision mixer and making the actors appear and disappear in our Pirate Adventure!’
We were proud of the teamwork and creativity shown throughout the two days. Each child brought their imagination to life, gaining confidence and new teamwork and technical skills in a supportive, professional environment.
🌟 A Big Thank You!
A huge well done to all the talented young people who took part in this week’s workshops. Your energy, enthusiasm, and creativity truly brought the studio to life — and we can’t wait to see what you create next!
👏 Stay Tuned
If your child missed out this time, don’t worry — we have plenty more exciting opportunities coming up! Our workshops offer fun, confidence-building experiences in TV & Film Production for ages 7–14, no matter their experience level.
