A Strong Start for Creative Media Production at end2end TV CIC

The Autumn Term has been an exciting start for our new BTEC Tech Award L1/2 Creative Media Production team, who joined us in our full broadcast end2end TV CIC studio, on site at Hurstmere School in Sidcup. From week one they showed enthusiasm, curiosity, and a real readiness to step into the professional world of TV and digital media.

Working in a real studio has given them hands-on experience across the full production pipeline—from planning and research to filming, sound recording, presenting and editing. As a group, they are already developing confidence with cameras, studio lighting, audio equipment and professional editing tools. Their teamwork and adaptability have been particular strengths, with progress flourishing as a result.

This term, pupils took part in structured workshops that built both technical skills and creative decision-making. They explored how media products are constructed, how visual and audio techniques create meaning, and how different studio roles work together in end-to-end production.

The team have also begun preparing for their first formal assessments, which will run from January to April during their usual BTEC sessions.

Next Course Start Date & Admissions

The next intake for the BTEC Tech Award in Creative Media Production (L1/2) begins Autumn Term 2026.

Who Can Join? Young people aged 13-18 (current Year 7-12) with an interest in creativity, tech, practical learning and gaining real industry experience. No prior skills required—just enthusiasm, curiosity and dedication.
