Lights, Camera, Creativity: Seven Months of BTEC Tech Awards CMP

Seven months in, and wow. What a journey it’s been.

Our BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Creative Media Production cohort at end2end TV CIC have gone from stepping into the studio for the very first time back in September 2025 to now completing their Component 1 and 2 assessments with confidence and serious production skills.

And this hasn’t been your typical classroom experience. Students have been working inside a real broadcast studio, learning by doing, collaborating and creating in an environment that mirrors the professional media industry. This hands-on, inclusive approach has allowed every student to develop their own creative voice.

From Ideas to Outcomes

Over the past seven months, we’ve seen students push boundaries and explore storytelling in exciting and original ways.

From animation and location filming to experimenting with green screen and editing techniques, the range of work has been nothing short of outstanding. Each portfolio and digital project reflects not just technical progress, but personality and a genuine desire to tell their story. For component 2 students have taken full ownership of their short films—planning, filming, directing, editing—and supporting each other along the way. The comraderie, motivational chats, smiles and teamwork have been a joy to see. The talent, skills boost and intelligent discussions, amongst other things, have made us proud! Most importantly, they’ve proven that when given the right tools and environment, young people can produce work that is inventive, thoughtful, and genuinely impressive.

We couldn’t be prouder and will be celebrating the final work produced by this cohort, as well as the young people themselves, but we have to wait just a little while longer until everything's formally moderated.

That said, we will celebrate their behind the scenes very soon!

As our assessment window ends, this is definitely a moment to celebrate the journey behind the finished films. The growth in confidence, the willingness to experiment, and the commitment to seeing ideas through from end to end. Well done everyone! That's 60% of the course completed, but we have so much more fun to come in the final component!
