Bringing Animation to Life: Something very special is taking shape at end2end TV! Pt.1

The Story Behind Our New Animation Suite!

We’re developing a new animation suite within our studio — a dedicated creative space where young people can explore animation and digital storytelling using various creative technologies. But we wanted the space to be more than just a room filled with equipment.

We wanted it to tell a story of its own.

We’re incredibly grateful to our patron, Jay Clarke, whose studio sponsorship is helping make the development of the new animation suite possible.

As part of the project, Jay is supporting the creation of an original mural for the studio, designed to transform the space and celebrate the creativity, history and possibilities of animation. Rather than simply decorating the walls, the ambition is to create something that young people can engage with — a visual journey through the development of animation and the creative ideas that have shaped it.

A Living Art Gallery

The new animation suite is being designed as a living art gallery. Alongside the history of animation, we'll have space to showcase the work created by the young people who use the studio. Their animations, artwork, characters and creative projects can become part of the environment itself. So as time goes by, the walls won't stay the same.

They'll evolve.

New generations of young creatives will add their own work, creating a constantly changing record of the ideas, imagination and talent that have passed through end2end TV.

Two Murals, One Creative Space

The project has also provided an exciting opportunity for young people and artists to experience what it's like to work on a real creative project.

Alongside Jay's sponsored mural, e2e Senior Jack, is project managing a small group of artists working on a second mural, which will be installed alongside it.

It's another example of the collaborative approach we want the studio to represent — bringing together artists, young people, media practitioners and the wider community.

The two murals will sit alongside one another, creating a vibrant backdrop to the animation suite and helping turn the studio into a space that feels creative, inspiring and alive.

A History of Animation on the Walls

One of the central ideas behind the mural is to celebrate the history of animation. From well known cartoon characters to stop motion examples; models and drawings, computer-generated imagery and today's digital techniques. The mural will provide a visual journey through time, giving young people something to discover and be inspired by as they use the space.

We hope it will encourage curiousity.

Inspiring the Next Generation

For us, this is what the animation suite is really about.

It's not just about providing young people with access to technology.

It's about creating an environment that says:

Your ideas matter. Your creativity matters. You can make things.

A young person might come into the suite knowing nothing about animation and discover a passion for storytelling.

Someone else might experiment with stop motion, create a character or produce their first animated film — and then come back months later to develop it further. That's the kind of environment we're trying to create.

The Studio Becomes Part of the Story

The beauty of a living art gallery is that it doesn't have a final chapter.

As new students and participants create work, they'll have the opportunity to contribute to the story of the space. The history of animation will sit alongside the future of animation — represented by the young people creating work right here at end2end TV.

And that sounds great! Because while we can celebrate everything animation has achieved, we're even more interested in seeing what the next generation will do with it.
