Bringing Stories to Life at West Horsey Place
This July, end2end TV delivered a fantastic film workshop at the beautiful West Horsey Place, bringing together young people aged 11–18 for a day of filmmaking, storytelling and creativity.
Our workshop aptly named Ghostly Encounters, took inspiration from the series BBC’s Ghosts, but the stories created by the young people were entirely their own!
🎬 From storyboard to screen
The day began with a brilliant tour of the property, then the group started developing their ideas, storyboarding their stories and thinking about characters, scenes and how they could use the wonderful surroundings of West Horsey Place.
Their finished videos were filmed in the library and drawing room, making fantastic use of the atmosphere of the historic location.
Not only that, the storytelling went far beyond a simple spooky tale! The group incorporated flashback scenes and character development across generations, creating stories with different timelines and layers. It was brilliant to see them thinking about how characters could evolve and how events from the past could influence the story being told in the present.
📹 ENG cameras in the walled garden
During a break from filming, the group also had the opportunity to get hands-on with our ENG cameras in the beautiful walled garden. It was a lovely chance to step outside, explore the grounds and experiment with professional television equipment in such a stunning setting.
🤝 Making friends and making films
One of the loveliest things about the day was seeing how quickly the group made friends; they got on so well together! Coming together as a new group can sometimes take a little time, but these young people quickly found their rhythm. They shared ideas, supported one another and worked together to bring their best stories to life.
🌟 Real stories, real creativity
At end2end TV, we believe that young people learn best when they have the opportunity to get involved and create something for themselves. Our Ghostly Encounters workshop gave the group the chance to develop stories, work with professional equipment, experiment with different filmmaking techniques and turn their ideas into something tangible. And what better place to do that but on location! They did it brilliantly.
A huge thank you to West Horsey Place for asking us along to work in such a wonderful location, and a massive well done to all the young people who brought their imagination, energy and enthusiasm to the day. We loved seeing what they created! Take a watch below!
