Immersive Workshop FUN!

What an amazing start to our workshop calendar we've had so far this year!

Young people aged 7-14 have created their own short films by experiencing our multi camera green screen studio and production control room; they got hands on with broadcast equipment, managed the studio, directed the filming and live mixed their own film trailers! Matched with meeting old friends and making new ones, the teamwork has been absolutely brilliant to see.

Our Holiday Workshops always vary in themes and content and have a different emphasis, making them a great place for beginners, as well as those who have been before.

I really liked learning more about the video cameras. I also enjoyed using the DSLR camera for the behind the scenes pictures. I think it's cool we get to capture everything during the workshop ourselves.

In January we were inspired by the panto season and created Pan's Adventures, complete with flying and SFX (no ropes, but amazing green screen trickery!)

In February we considered the use of prompts, visual and verbal, to develop the very best performances of our film Sky Pirates! as well as exploring some new real life roles on offer in the studio, such as sound #2 in charge of lapel mics.

I really liked the different things we got to do. In the control room, I especially liked vision mixing and mixing the video live. It was really exciting!

At the beginning I felt a bit shy and I wasn't sure about acting, but it was great fun doing it with my friends. I would definitely recommend giving this a go!
