In the Summer, we were contacted by Amelia Rusling, who works for both the national children's newspaper, First News and FYI; a news programme for young people broadcast on Sky News. She'd seen our article in First News [see page 25], about us covering the Tour de Bexley using our outside broadcast unit to stream the event and wanted to learn more about end2end TV.

After we chatted over Zoom with Amelia and Caitlin (a producer from FYI) they became really interested in what we were doing and wanted to see the e2e Crew in action! They decided to film the crew filming the upcoming Summer Music Showcase at Hurstmere School, which was not only the first whole school concert since the Pandemic started, but also saw the release of a Studio-Fix song and accompanying video fundraising for mental health charity, Young Minds.

In true e2e fashion we loved capturing some behind the scenes of our Sky FYI guests visiting us. Lola even had a chance to put her fantastic interview skills in practice by interviewing them right back! Take a look below.

As well as training some of the new Hurstmere Year 7 Media Team during the event, the e2e Crew also demonstrated their advanced technical skill set, taking on production roles to ensure the event was streamed, mixed and filmed with precision. Something that it's fair to say wow'ed our Sky visitors because the crew were so amazing at it and they are still only aged 12-13!

The whole event was incredible, it definitely had a festival feel; showcasing the wonderful efforts of Hurstmere School's music department over the last year. Together with concert lighting and sound it gave the pupils an amazing platform to entertain parents, staff and special guests including the London Borough of Bexley's Mayor and Mayoress; Cllr Nick O' Hare and Mrs Natalie Ford.

Our thanks go to Hurstmere School for being great hosts, Studio-Fix for their dedication to music and their students, and our special visitors from Sky's FYI, Amelia, Caitlin and Kathryn. We can't wait to see the crew seen from FYI's perspective!
