The results are in — and what a journey it has been!
Components 1 & 2 Completed! Celebrating Our BTEC Creative Media Students
Back last year, in September 2025, our first groups joined us in launching our new EduHUB and began their BTEC Creative Media Production journey, learning how to turn creative ideas into real productions (& so much more!).
Their Component 1 and Component 2 results arrived with GCSE results, and we're taking a moment to celebrate what they've achieved — and, more importantly, to showcase some of the fantastic work they've created along the way. It's seriously impressive!
A Results Day to Celebrate
These results represent much more than completing assignments. They reflect the commitment, creativity and teamwork the students have shown throughout the year and now they are 60% through! For many of them, this has been their first opportunity to work regularly with professional film equipment, learn in a real studio environment and produce their own creative work. We really are incredibly proud of every one of them.
From Ideas to Finished Films
One of the most exciting parts of the BTEC journey has been watching the students' ideas develop. They've gone from learning about the history of media, to the fundamentals of production to storyboarding, planning, filming, directing, recording sound and editing their own productions.
And now we can share some of the results.

Behind the Scenes
Of course, the finished films are only part of the story.
Behind every production were hours of planning, filming, problem-solving and editing. There were cameras to set up, scenes to organise, sound to record, footage to review and plenty of decisions to make along the way. And that's exactly what practical media production is about.
More Than Just Making Films
What we've particularly enjoyed seeing is the development in the students themselves. Over the course of the year, they've had to communicate ideas, work as production teams, take responsibility for different roles and solve problems when things didn't quite go according to plan. They've learned that making television and film is a collaborative process. And they've learned that sometimes the best creative decisions happen when you have to think on your feet!
Those are skills that extend well beyond the media industry — confidence, communication, creativity, teamwork, organisation and problem-solving all come into play.
And we are not ending without mentioning the great friendships and vibe inside the studio, which is down to everyone of the groups! What a fabulous year!
